Welcome to UPGRADE, The European Journal for the Informatics Professional, a bimonthly technical, independent, non-commercial, and freely distributed electronic publication (ISSN 1684-5285).

UPGRADE is the anchor point for UPENET (UPGRADE European NETwork), the network of publications, paper o electronic, from CEPIS member societies. For further information about UPENET, click here.

UPGRADE is published, on behalf of CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), by Novática, bimonthly journal of the Spanish CEPIS society ATI (Asociación de Técnicos de Informática).

UPGRADE appears bimonthly in English in this website (no printed edition is available) and its monographic section is also published In Spanish (full edition printed; summary, abstracts and some articles online) by Novática.

UPGRADE was founded in October 2000 by CEPIS, in cooperation with Novática and Informatik/Informatique, bimonthly journal of SVI/FSI (Swiss Federation of Professional Informatics Societies) that ceased publication in April 2002. (For a short history of UPGRADE, click here.)

CEPIS, founded in 1989, unites 37 Informatics Professional Societies from 33 European countries and is the voice of above 400,000 ICT Professionals in our continent.
